Tomco Insurance Corp. was established in 1977 by Tommie Tarsell, and is a certified MBE/WBE. From the start, Tomco Insurance has provided coverage for thousands of individuals and companies. Our agents routinely write articles for trade magazines and lecture in front of a variety of groups on the topic of insurance, bonding, investments, small business, & MBE/WBE certification. Tomco Insurance has been recognized as an industry leader for many years and has been honored by the City of Baltimore, The Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, The Maryland Department of Transportation, The U.S. Small Business Administration, The U.S. Department of Commerce, and President Reagan in a White House Ceremony as "One Of America's Top Women Entrepreneurs".
Tommie Tarsell, is a Certified Insurance Counselor and has been an insurance professional since 1968. She was the first woman to open her own insurance agency in the state of Maryland. Ms. Tarsell is recognized throughout the country as an advocate for women in business. Some of her accomplishments include:
